About the project

BLUEVISION is an Erasmus+ project that addresses critical human‑safety, environmental and economic risks in the maritime sector by delivering Sustainable Predictive Maritime Maintenance (SPMM) solutions using augmented reality, digital twins and an industrial metaverse. The project responds to high accident and loss rates in maritime operations by closing the skills and competence gap among maritime infrastructure engineers, technicians and deep‑tech providers. BLUEVISION’s purpose is to upskill the maritime workforce, create portable qualifications and build an EU‑level SPMM skills ecosystem to enable safer, greener and more resilient maritime critical infrastructures.

Objectives

  • Upskill 2,000 learners through seven micro‑courses aligned with the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) and the European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training (ECVET), ensuring portability across Initial Vocational Education and Training (IVET) and Continuing Vocational Education and Training (CVET).
  • Establish seven entrepreneurial maritime incubators and empower at least 250 SPMM trainers.
  • Develop an SPMM Competence Framework and Occupational Profiles aligned with National Qualification Frameworks for pan‑EU portability.
  • Build an SPMM skills ecosystem platform with an industrial metaverse and digital twins; pilot via 200 work‑based apprenticeships and run a Women in Maritime Tech accelerator.
